Kitty Collins (Wardwell) - Class Of 1971

HOLDEN ‐ Kitty I. (Collins) Wardwell, 29, died unexpectedly in 1983. She was born July 1, 1953, in
Bangor, daughter of Forrest Collins Sr. and Ruby Collins Doughty. Kitty grew up in Dedham, and was a
1971 graduate of Brewer High School and graduated from Finishing Touch Modeling School in
Massachusetts. Kitty worked as a cosmetologist at various retail stores in the Bangor area for several
years. She had been residing in Holden until June 1983 when she disappeared from all who loved her
dearly. Kitty was such a beautiful person, such a shame she was taken from us so soon and we can only
dream of how her life could have been. We have spent the last 28 years searching for answers that we
thought would never come. She has been missed and always will be, but now she is finally home to rest.
Kitty is survived by her son, Mark D. Collins and his wife, Laurie and a granddaughter, Ashley, all of
Dedham; stepmother, Vera Collins of Bradley; two brothers, Dwight Collins and his wife, Marla, of
Bucksport, and Mike Collins of Bradley; four sisters, Linda Currier and her husband, Ken, of Allagash,
Torrie Collins of Brewer, Candy Collins of Bar Harbor, and Brenda Bagwill and her husband, Mike, of
California; several nieces and nephews. Other family members who are now deceased are her parents,
Forrest Collins Sr., and Albert and Ruby F. Doughty; grandparents, Ida and Byron Collins, and Dwight and
Genevieve Walsh; and two brothers, Forrest Collins Jr. and Scott Allen Collins. A service honoring Kitty's
life will be held 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, with the
Rev. Grace Bartlett, presiding. Family and friends may visit 5 p.m. until the service begins at the funeral
home. Burial with her mother at Central Cemetery, Dedham, will be private. For those who wish,
memorial gifts may be made to her family, care of Linda Currier, 234 Walker Brook Road, Allagash, ME
04774. Messages to her family may be offered at www.kileyandfoley.com.
