SHERMAN - Edward began his new life on Dec. 27, 2016, at Millinocket Regional Hospital. He was born to Annie and True McDonald of Brewer Maine on March 1st, 1949. He was the youngest of three children. Edward was an avid fishermen and absolutely loved anything to do with being outdoors. He enjoyed his Sunday drives with no destination in mind. There was not a place he didn't explore in Maine. He loved to eat and try new restaurants where he befriended the waitresses. He was well known for his sense of humor and always making the girls smile.
He graduated from Brewer High School. He worked for W.H. Shurtleff out of Portland for 5 years and H.E. Sargents in Brewer for 18 years, as well as other jobs.
He was predeceased by his parents, and two siblings Pat and Peter.
He is survived by his daughter Kellie-Jo Soltow of Waterville. His two beautiful granddaughters who he adored Kolbie and Logan Soltow of Waterville. His "Adopted" daughter and one of many caregivers Amanda Languet and boyfriend Drew Shorey of Patten. Amanda's Daughter Alexandria Splan who always held a special place in his heart. His good friend and caregiver Fran Sleeper of Sherman, Lora, Nik and Tony Ryan of Patten, his Best Friend of many years Gary Robbins of Dedham, Raymond Landry of Sherman and MANY MANY other friends (he had too many friends to list them all) but he loved and appreciated all of you.
Edward, Amanda and Fran wish to thank the Visiting Nurses of Aroostook Hospice team and Patten Ambulance, the staff of Millinockett Regional Hospital specifically Kim Falloon who went above and beyond for his care. Everyone at Sherman Thriftway for all the help and goodies and last but not least everyone at KVHC.
Edward has asked there be no funeral, instead there will be a gathering at a date and place to be announced.
