Ronald Brown - Class Of 1970

Eddington -  Ronald A. Brown, 62, husband of Nancy (Osgood) Brown, died Oct. 18, 2013, at a Boston hospital after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 20, 1951, in Bangor, the son of Warren C. and Mary P. (Jones) Brown.

Ron worked for the University of Maine for 42 years as project manager and staff associate in facilities management. He was a strong, proud, independent, loving family man who after surviving polio at age four was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and kayaking. He graduated from Brewer High School in 1970 and the Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute in 1972. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and was a member of the Ralph J. Pollard Lodge, No. 217 AF & AM, Orrington.

Ron is survived by his wife, Nancy of Eddington; his children, Rebecca Parks of Fairfax, Va., and Heather Adams and her husband, Peter, of Brewer; two grandchildren, Noah Parks and Sean Parks, both of San Antonio; one brother, Robert Brown and his wife, Donna, of Fayetteville, N.C.; one sister, Barbara Simpson and her husband, Ben, of Winston, Ore.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jean and Bruce Johnson of Whitehaven, Pa., Joyce and Stephen Ashley of Northeast Harbor, and Robert and Zita Osgood of Holden; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Kitty and Denny Goos.

Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where a service honoring his life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23. Burial at a later date will be at Jonathan Eddy Cemetery, Eddington.
