Bar Harbor - Brian T. Dodge, 67, died on March 19, 2018, at Sonogee in Bar Harbor, with his wife, Pam; and daughter, Amy, by his side. He was born on October 19, 1950, in Lincoln, Maine. He was the son of David and Gertrude (Erickson) Dodge.
Brian grew up in Winterport, Maine. He graduated from Brewer High School in 1970, and then went on to get his bachelor's degree in social studies from the University of Maine at Farmington in 1974. He wasted no time in fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a social studies teacher at Mt. Abram High School in Salem, Maine, where he taught for 33 years. He took great pride in some of the programs that he created, which included American Studies and Job Shadowing. It was at Mt. Abram where he discovered his love for coaching. Over the course of his coaching career, he was involved in various sports at Mt. Abram and also men's basketball at UMF. Brian touched the lives of many kids in his community with his dedication and his infectious laugh.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pamela (Rhoades) Dodge; his daughter, Amy K, son-in-law, Jeremy Carreras and granddaughters, Hadley and Adeline. He is also survived by his sisters, Susanne, Paulette, Roberta, and Rachel. He was predeceased by his brother, Eric. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and the countless students and athletes whose lives he touched.
