Bangor - Joseph "Joe" Oliver Fowler passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021. Joe was born May 14, 1951, in Bangor, and was the smallest surviving baby born in the state of Maine at that time. Joe lived in Orono and Orrington, and graduated from Brewer High School.
Joe was a proud 16-year veteran of the Air Force, where he tested runways all over the world. Some of his favorite stories were of traveling and his experiences living in Florida, Germany, England, Korea, and many other temporary duty stations around the world.
After serving his country, Joe worked and traveled throughout Maine doing geophysical testing. Joe loved being outdoors fishing, hiking, and playing golf at courses all over the state as he traveled for work. He was always one for trying new things and had many hobbies, including fly-tying, woodworking, photography, and computer repair. He always had a smile and was generous with his friends and family, and left us many great memories to share.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Hazel (Oliver) Fowler. He is survived by his new wife, Deb; his brothers, Michael (Lori), Bruce (Roslyn) and Andy (Traci); his sister, Mary (Scott); many nephews, nieces and cousins; and his aunt, Theresa. He will be greatly missed by his family and his lifelong friend, Rod McLean.
