Bruce Hews - Class Of 1970

GLENBURN and BREWER Bruce Alan Hews Sr., 54, died unexpectedly Dec. 9, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 28, 1952, in Bangor. He graduated from Brewer High School in 1970 and Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. Bruce was self-employed as a carpenter and an electrician. He built many fine homes in Glenburn and the surrounding areas. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine in the 1970s. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his father, Franklin and his wife, Jean Hews, of Brewer; mother, Mary Jane and her husband, William Grady, of Ocala, Fla.; three children, Bruce Hews Jr. of Bangor, Shawn Hews and his wife, Angela, of Brewer and Kimberly Jennings and her husband, Randell, of Morrisville, N.C.; five grandchildren, Hunter and Katie of Brewer, Julianna, Abrielle and Garyn Jennings of Morrisville, N.C.; one sister, Brenda Bourdeau of Southington, Conn.; one brother, Gregg Hews and his wife, Debbie, of Tipp City, Ohio; a half brother, Lenny Broussard and his wife, Esther, of Connecticut; two stepsisters, Linda Powers and her husband, Richard, of Orrington and Laurie Fullerton and her husband, Michael, of Glenburn; a stepbrother, Paul Shaw of Scarborough; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be missed by his companion and best friend, Julie Deyone of Bangor. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Andrew Dixon for his care and compassion of Bruce the past several years. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a funeral service will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, with the Rev. Tom Farley officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the services, Tuesday, at the Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, Family Rooms, 55 South Main St., Brewer.
