Bangor - BANGOR - Carolyn Coyne passed unexpectedly Dec. 18, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. She was 61 and a native of Bangor. Carolyn had a 38-year shared love affair with her husband, Richard. She was looking forward to retirement years and then being reunited with their son, Jamie who died July 3, 2002.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Hascall; and granddaughter, Teagan. They were both sources of great joy for her, and Carolyn especially liked getting her Grammy kisses. Other family includes her sisters, Charlene McGarr and Suzanne Blanchard; brother, Charles H. King III; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Her parents were Charles and Carrie King of Orrington.
Carolyn was working for the State of Maine Department of Employment and previously worked for LL Bean. She was professionally detail oriented in her service to clients and customers. Carolyn graduated from Brewer High School and attended the University of Maine, Orono. Carolyn loved life and hanging out with her husband, and visiting family and friends, especially Irene Staples and Linda Currier. She celebrated her music and books, and was blessed with a love of nature. She took great care of her birds and could often be found outside at dawn barefoot even in winter feeding the crows. A natural researcher by heart, she knew every detail of her garden and house plants. She cherished the natural wonder of nature and noticed the subtle intricacies of color and design that most would miss.
