Holden - HOLDEN - Donald "Donnie" W. Nelligan Jr., age 62, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013. He was born in Bangor, the son of Donald W. Sr. and Dorothy (Adams) Nelligan.
Donnie was a graduate of Brewer High School in 1970. He served four years in the U.S. Navy including two tours in Vietnam. Donnie was employed for many years in the family business.
Over his life, Donnie enjoyed various activities including scuba diving, sailing, flying, rock climbing and music. He was the proud owner of Eagle Bluff, a well-known rock climbing area in Clifton. Donnie had an incredible love of music and played with several area bands.
He is survived by his parents, Donald Sr. and Dorothy Nelligan of Holden; and his three sisters, Christina Nelligan of Augusta, Susan and her husband, Ronald Scott, of Holden, and Margaret "Peggy" and her husband, Brian Bush, of Holden. He is also survived by his nephews, Andrew and his wife, Jessica Scott, of Hampden, and Matthew Bush of Holden; and his niece, Caroline Bush of Holden. Additionally he is survived by two great-nieces, Alexis and Abigail Scott of Hampden. Donnie is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends.
