Hazen Danforth

Hazen West Danforth, Sr., 62, of Brunswick (GA) died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at SGHS Brunswick Campus. Mr. Danforth was born November 11, 1947 in Brewer, Maine to the late Hazen Willis Danforth Jr., and Laura Chute Danforth. He worked for Georgia Pacific Pulp and Paper for over 31 years and retired as Technical Director. Also, Hazen worked for TAPPI from 1974 – 2004 and served as Director of Technical Support. He was a graduate of the University of Maine with a degree as a Chemical Engineering in 1971 and The Institute of Paper Chemistry at Appleton, Wisconsin in 1973 where he received his Masters Degree in Science. Mr. Danforth was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed dog racing and harness racing, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Danforth. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Linda Marie Kucsera Danforth , two sons, Hazen Danforth, Jr. and wife Jennifer and Scott Danforth all of Brunswick, four grandchildren, Lauren Danforth, Peyton Danforth, Megan Danforth and Hazen Danforth III, one brother, Fred Danforth and wife Carlene of Mattapoisett, MA, one uncle Don Danforth and wife Emmy Lou of Andover, MA and nephews and cousins.
