
ORRINGTON - Gary J. Proulx, 72, husband of Mary (Corro) Proulx, died May 14, 2021, at his home in Orrington after a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 31, 1948, in Bangor, the son of Leonel V. and Avis L. (Quirion) Proulx Noel.
Gary was a graduate of Brewer High School, class of 1967, and went on to attended Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, where he studied carpentry and graduated in 1969. His career in the building industry included working for Crescent Lumber, Applicator Sales & Service, Keith Trembley Builders, and as a self-employed general contractor. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his passions were his vegetable gardens, the study of holistic medicine, golf outings with "the guys," Keith, Hank, and John, and most importantly family and the Bible. His advice and helping hand for family and friends, on any topic or project, will be greatly missed.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years, Mary, are two children, Theresa Thompson and her partner, David Thurlow, of Orrington and Jerry "Jay" Proulx and his wife, Kristen, of Maryville, TN; three grandchildren, Joseph Thompson and his wife, Lauren, Jadon Netschi and Dalton Proulx; one great-grandchild, Jameson Thompson; seven brothers and sisters, Leonel "Lenny" Proulx II and his wife, Norma, Mark Proulx and his wife, Jeananne, Danny Proulx and his wife, Brenda, Christine "Chris" Aucoin and her companion, Mark, Nannett Wells and her husband, Dan, Scott Proulx, and Denise Jones and her husband, Cliff; his stepmother, Ladonna Proulx; brothers-in-law, Wilbert "Buster" Corro and his wife, Christine, and Stephen Corro and his wife, MaryEllen; special family friend, Brenda Dufour.
