
CARMEL - Leo W. Grass, 55, died Friday, April 2, 2010, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 6, 1954, in Bangor, son of Chester and Gloria (Luckey) Grass. Leo grew up in Brewer and was a member of the 1970 Brewer High School football state championship team. He enjoyed a career as a truck driver for O'Halloran Inc. and was a member of Exiles M.C. for 38 years. Leo was predeceased by his father. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Linda Gardner and her husband, Tom, of Bangor; nieces, Sheryl Carney and her husband, John, of Brewer and their children, Brandon and Christopher, and Jennifer Goodrich and her fiance, Troy Wing, of Ellsworth; special friend, Stephen O'Halloran; and several cousins. Leo's family thanks New Hope Hospice and CancerCare of Maine for their care and support throughout Leo's illness. At Leo's request, services will be private.
