Floyd Lenfest, Jr. - Class Of 1972

Buckeye, AZ - Floyd "Skip" Roy Lenfest Jr. of Buckeye, AZ died August 31, 2018 at home after a lengthy illness. He was born March 4, 1954 in Bangor, the son of Kathleen Jean (Sutton) Lenfest & Floyd (Skip) R. Lenfest.

Skip first lived on Dexter St. in Bangor until about age 7. The family then moved to Eastern Ave. in Brewer where he spent the rest of his younger years. Skip graduated in 1972 from Brewer High. After graduation, he briefly spent time at Norwich University. Following his return, he married Elaine Anastos (of Old Town) and worked at Coca Cola and then later at Standard Electric. In July of 1995 he married Janice Weatherbee (of Dover Foxcroft) and in April 1998 (after the snow/ice storm from hell), at the suggestion of his best friend Rob MacDougall, Skip and Janice moved to the Valley of the Sun, the greater Phoenix, AZ area. He soon found himself immersed in the wholesale electrical industry once again. Skip retired in his late fifties, alternating his retirement years between Phoenix and Carmel, ME. He was a long time member of the Blue Lodge Masons & Anah Temple Shrine Club. Skip loved football and was an integral member, playing middle linebacker, of the 1970 State Champion (ranked 5th nationally) Brewer High Witches team. This team left its mark as one of the best, if not the best, high school football teams in Maine history. The team was enshrined in the Brewer Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018.

Skip is survived by his sons, Floyd "Skip" Lenfest III and Alicia Horne of Phoenix, AZ. & Samuel Lenfest and his wife Lindsay (Morse) Lenfest of Chandler, AZ.; his sisters Carol Somers of Deltona, FL and Lisa Mayo & her husband Eric of South Portland, ME; and his brother Chris Lenfest & his wife Jody (Theriault) Lenfest of Hebron, OH.; and four grandchildren - Chance, Kaleb, Dashel, & Lincoln.

Skip was predeceased by his parents, Floyd "Skip" Roy Lenfest and Kathleen Jean (Sutton) Lenfest and his older sister Pamela Jo Lenfest Martin Clune.
