Scott McGlauflin - Class Of 1972

TUCSON, Ariz. and BREWER Scott James McGlauflin, passed away Jan. 18, 2005, which was his 51st birthday, at St. Mary’s Hospice in Tucson, Ariz. He was born Jan. 18, 1954, in Portland, the loving son of Donald P. McGlauflin Sr. and Eleanor Cross McGlauflin. Scott moved with his family to Brewer at the age of three. He attended Brewer schools as a youth and graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1972. He graduated from the University of Maine, Orono, with a degree in psychology in 1976. Scott loved sports and participated in the Brewer Little League, Pop Warner and P.A.L. youth leagues. While at Brewer High School, he was a member of the 1970 State Championship Football Team. He also was a member of the track team. Scott traveled extensively throughout his life. He toured Europe as a young man and left the area in 1980. He traveled all throughout the United States and eventually moved to California. Scott divided the last 25 years between California, Las Vegas and Tucson, Ariz. Scott loved skiing, tennis and hiking and was a member of the UNLV Men’s Glee Club in Las Vegas, Nev. and the Sons of Orpheius in Tucson. He was also licensed with the Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse of Nevada. He worked in the mental health field in California. Scott is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; stepdaughter, Michelle; and granddaughter, Kelly of Tucson; his stepson, David and his wife, Kim; granddaughters, Halie and Cassidy of Lewiston; his stepmother, Catherine McGlauflin and her daughters, Margaret Leclair of Bangor, Mary Barteaux of Hampden and Joanna Thyer of Bangor. He will be greatly missed by his sister, Julie (McGlauflin) Levasseur of Brewer and his brother, Donald P. McGlauflin Jr. of Bangor. He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Eleanor in 1978 and his father, Donald P. McGlauflin Sr. in 1988. A gathering for family and friends will be at the Whig & Courier, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., Monday, Jan. 24, 2005.
