BANGOR and EDDINGTON - Lester "Les" Earl Grant, 66, died peacefully May 24, 2009, at a Philadelphia hospital. He was born April 8, 1943, in Bangor, the son of Lester H. and Doris E. (Shaw) Grant. Les was the longtime owner and operator of Mount Hope Variety, Bangor. He was a member and past master of Rising Virtue Lodge No. 10 AF & AM, Bangor, and Anah Shriners. Les enjoyed wood working and working with his hands. He enjoyed nature, gardening, planting flowers and being outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Marylyn J. Grant of Eddington; sons, Douglas Grant and wife, Becky, of Kansas, Ronald Grant and wife, Tina, of Texas and Robbie Grant and wife, Kristy, of Kansas; daughters, Terri Doane of Eddington and Julie Duran and husband, Jarrod, of Corinth; a brother, Donald Grant of Connecticut; a sister, Peggy Grant of Connecticut; and five grandchildren, Ashley, Haley, Kelli, Amber and Emily. A graveside memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at Eddy Cemetery, Eddington, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson officiating.
