Orrington - Judith Wood Hunter passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Antoinette Wood of Orrington, Maine, and was predeceased by her best friend and sister, Janet York, and her brother, Dr. Charles Larracey. She lived most of her life in Orrington, Maine, and was a proud member of the Brewer High School Class of 1962.
Judy married the love of her life, Richard Hunter, in 2002. They had a marriage that all would admire. Their love for one another truly grew stronger as they grew older together.
Judy was a devoted, selfless, fun-loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put others first. She leaves behind her three children, Mark Hunter, Todd Hunter, and Jill Hunter, and her adoring six grandchildren, Erin, Hunter, Logan, Ryan, Jack, and Emma.
Judy is also survived by her brother, Rev. Dr. Patrick Larracey, and several fond nieces and nephews.
We find solace in the fact that Judy's incredible spirit lives on in our cherished memories of her joy and laughter, in the kindness and mannerisms of her children and grandchildren and in the hearts of all of those she touched over the years. She made all of us better.
Judy's life will be celebrated in a private memorial service.
A fund has been created to honor and continue what she loved doing, helping kittens find forever homes. Judy's Kitties, started by the Pixel fund, will continue her passion for many years to come.
