Susan Costain - Class Of 1963

ORRINGTON - Susan D. (Costain) Curtis, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1944, in Portland, the daughter of Russell and Susanna (McDonald) Costain. Susan had a great love for her family and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed many hobbies including quilting, reading, taking pictures and especially tending to her flower garden. She also enjoyed her time in Florida visiting family. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Alton Curtis; sons, Michael Curtis and his wife, Kelly, of Hermon and Stephen Curtis of Sarasota, Fla.; daughter, Gail Abbas and her husband, Terry, of Bradenton Fla.; brothers, Dean Costain and his wife, Bernice, of Beverly Hills, Fla., and David Costain and his wife, Margaret, of Brewer; sisters, Connie Avery and her husband, Maurice, of St. Albans, Catherine Foss of Brewer, and Diann Adams and her husband, David, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; grandchildren, Alicia Westfield and her husband, Joshua, of Dedham, Ashley Curtis, Megan Curtis, Morgan Curtis and Darian Abbas; two uncles, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Donald. She also left behind many lifelong friends and some new friends at the senior center. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 28, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Calvary Chapel, 154 River Road, Orrington, with Pastor Dennis Harvey officiating.
