Marilyn Daigle (Gould) - Class Of 1963

HOLDEN - Marilyn Charlene (Daigle) Gould, 68, died Tuesday, Oct, 30, 2013, peacefully at her home with her family present. Marilyn was born Oct. 10, 1945, the daughter of Martin Fidel and Yvonne (Fournier) Daigle.

Marilyn grew up in South Brewer on King's Court the middle child of seven children. She attended St. Teresa Catholic School and graduated from Brewer High School in 1963. She began employment at the Employers' Commercial Union Insurance Company, later to become Commercial Union Insurance Company, in 1963 where she met her future husband of 45 years, Joseph Gould. Momma was a stay at home mother to her three children who were raised on the Fields Pond Road amongst many close friends and their families. Aunt Mim was known for her contributions of homemade food items and crocheted or knit crafts to many school, town and church events; she could and did knit any and everything. Her family also nicknamed her "MacGyver" for her ability to cook a gourmet meal, give a haircut, soothe a fussy baby to sleep and sew together a prom dress all with next to no provisions and in only one hour. Marilyn began work for the Brewer School System in the school lunch program in 1986 as a school "lunch lady" eventually working her way to the position of Dietary Manager for the entire Brewer School System, retiring in 2011.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 45 years, Joseph Gould; and her three children, Jason Gould and his wife, Shelley, of Holden, Aimee Raymond and her husband, Jody, of Orrington, and Suzanne Gould and her fiancé, John Miller, of Bangor; and stepdaughter, Jennifer Gibbs and her husband, John, of Old Fort, N.C. Six grandchildren were blessed to call Marilyn Grammie and Meme, Jacob and Isabella Gould of Holden, Maxwell and Maggie Raymond of Orrington, and Daniel and Jessica Gibbs of Old Fort, N.C. Marilyn is the beloved sister of Bobby Daigle, Joanne Black, Doris Seymour and her husband, Earl, Louie Daigle and his wife, Debbie, all of Brewer, Bette Phillips and her husband, Bob, of Orrington, and Nancy Penner of Brewer; and beloved sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Bob and Bobbi Gould of New Berne, N.C., Judy Stevens of Salem, Mass., and Debbie Gould of Newburgh, N.Y. She is survived by 22 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom were very close to Aunt Mimi.

Marilyn was a devoted parishioner and was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Teresa Catholic Church in South Brewer serving in many capacities including Eucharistic Minister bringing the Body of Christ to those who were home bound and in nursing homes.
