BANGOR and BREWER - Thomas E. Mansell, 64, died March 12, 2009, at a Bangor hospital after many years of fighting heart disease. He was born March 6, 1945, in Brewer, the son of Theresa and George Mansell. Tom graduated from Brewer High School in 1963 and attended Husson College, Bangor. He was also in the U.S. Air National Guard during this time. Tom was a very proud mill worker at St. Regis Paper Co., Bucksport, and Eastern Fine Paper Co., Brewer. He had many friends and co-workers at both places. Tom and Bev lived for 32 years in Orrington on Birch Hill Road. He was disabled due to an injury and heart disease and had many other occupations after that, including working at Bangor Floral, Sawyer Environmental, Ruby Tuesday's and 99 Restaurant. Tom was a member of East Orrington Congregational Church and active in Monday Night Group, Men's Group and dartball team. Tom enjoyed lunches at KevLan, riding in his red Mustang convertible, talking to his friends on the telephone, spending time at Cold Stream, working with Kevin and Rob at 99 and going out to eat! His greatest joy was taking the family to Disney World and having his grandsons fly for the first time with him. God kept him well on that trip and he had that memory with him always. Tom enjoyed being with friends, and loved you all! He is no longer suffering with pain and is now at peace. We all know he had 10 lives; number 11 was too hard. Tom is survived by his wife of 40 years, Beverly (Warren) Mansell; his daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Mike Yates; and he was a very proud Papa to Zachary and Bradyn Yates, all of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. These boys were the joy of his life and kept him going through many difficult times, including his stroke, because he loved them so. Also surviving are his brother, Ralph and wife, Debra, of Storrs, Conn., and their three children, Duke, Troy and Tanya; his great-nephew, Pierce Tate; sister-in-law, Carrol Mansell of Texas; two nieces and husbands, Kim and Tammi; great-nephew, Shainey; brother-in-law, Roy Warren and wife, Martha and their children, Nicole, Macky and Roy Jr., all of Palm Beach, Fla.; great-niece, Caroline; brother-in-law, Jim Warren of Brewer and his partner, Nancy Babb; as well as his puppy and companion, "Minnie," during all his illnesses she was always by his side because she loved him; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Warren of Bangor; Aunt Natalie Mansell of Brewer; as well as several cousins in Maine and Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Robert; aunt, Norma Meyer; and uncle, Durward Mansell. Tom truly cared about his friends, co-workers, medical providers and church family. He especially loved his good friends, Sally and Hillson Beal and family, "Daddy" Don, Fred, Dave, Atlee, Wayne, Terry, Jeff and Roy.
