James Phillip Sargent, 59, beloved husband, son and brother passed away after a long illness Feb. 16, 2007 at a Bangor nursing home.
He was born August 7, 1947 in Bangor, the son of Kenneth and Joanne (Havey) Sargent. He graduated from Brewer High School and attended Ricker College for two years. Jim was employed as a commercial painter for most of his working years and for a time before he became ill, he showed his natural ability as a craftsman in restoring boats and canoes. Jim loved music and was accomplished on both the organ and piano. He loved nature, long walks, camping out and he was an avid fisherman. Everyone who knew Jim loved him. He had a wonderful sense of humor with a charismatic personality. His family and all who knew him will not forget his warmth and keen sensitivity to the feelings of others. He will be greatly missed by everyone including his dearly loved Siamese "Sam".
Jim is survived by the love of his life and his soul mate, Claire Sargent, his mother Joanne H. Sargent and sister Debby Giles of Bangor, three nieces, several aunts and uncle and several cousins. Also a very dear and special friend Tim Page of Bangor. He was predeceased by his father Kenneth in 1965 and his older brother Michael in 1997. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19th at 11:00 AM at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth, ME. Bishop Hazen Martin of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be at Gordon Cemetery, Sullivan, ME on April 27, 2007
