Brewer - Jean M. Scripture, 80, grew her wings on April 30, 2022. She was born in Hermon, the daughter of Merle J. and Florence L. (Jellison) Scripture.
Jean was a graduate of Brewer High School. She spent many years working at the Emples Knitting Mill until it closed, then she retired after working at the William Cohen school department. Jean was an avid singer and guitar player, and loved getting the community together for her county jam sessions on Sundays.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Gerald, Karlton and Earle; and her sister, Carolyn.
Jean is survived by her sister, Sheila and her husband, John Lewia; sister-in-law, Francis Scripture; nephew, Thomas Scripture; nieces, Jacqueline Scripture, Anita Brooks, Tammy Bouchard, and Tina Ellis; many great-nieces and nephews; and her god-daughter, Elizabeth Dowling. Jean loved her dog named Sammy. She also loved her loyal music people from her jams at City Side in Brewer.
