Dedham - DEDHAM - Mary Geraldine (Lunt) Dresser, 94, wife of the late Arthur "Bud" Dresser, passed away June 2, 2013, with her children by her side. She was born Dec. 23, 1918, in Brewer, daughter of Joseph and Hazel Lunt.
Mary graduated from Brewer High School in 1936 and Beal Business College in 1937, completing a two-year degree in one. She worked for Commercial Investment Trust and later managed the credit department at Sears & Roebuck while her husband served in World War II. She was married to her beloved husband for 65 years. They resided first at Phillips Lake in Lucerne, 1947-1952, and later moved to their farm in Dedham Village. She held the honor of being the town's oldest resident. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to all. The church and community were very important parts of her life. Mary served on many local groups, including the Dedham school board, the Community Club of Dedham, the New Century Grange, and deaconate/ treasurer of Dedham Congregational Church. She loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed a lifetime at Phillips Lake with her family.
She is survived by her five children, Arthur E. Dresser and wife, Carol, of Arrowsic, Carolyn (Dresser) Fox and husband, Larry, of Ellsworth, John C. Dresser of Dedham, Jay P. Dresser of Bangor and Mary Jane (Dresser) Blair and husband, Mark, of Belfast; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Treat of Holden; and several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. In addition to her husband, Arthur, she was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Robert Lunt; and sister, Lillian Small.
