EDDINGTON - Lucy M. Gardner, wife of the late Eugene M. Gardner, passed away peacefully July 2, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 10, 1922, in Old Town, daughter of the late Rudolph B. and Katherine B. (Roberts) Ashe. Lucy and Gene were married for 57 years and raised four children. Lucy was a devout Christian and a member of East Eddington Community Church. She is survived by her four children, Gail Pelkey and her husband, Thomas, of Eddington, Jean Achorn and her partner, Lewis Soper, of Lee, Faye Fredericks of Portland and Gary Gardner of Eddington; seven grandchildren, Robert Peabody, Lisa Parsons, Peter Achorn, Jennifer Astbury, Thomas Fredericks, Troy Fredericks and Nathen Fredericks; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Llewellyn Ashe and his wife, Eleanor; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
