KENDUSKEAG - Eleanor "Ellie" Mae (Pullen) Beckwith, 74, wife of the late Robert Ira Beckwith, died Feb. 4, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 4, 1935, in Kenduskeag, the daughter of Irvin E. and Amy B. (Taylor) Pullen. Ellie was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1953, and Northern Conservatory of Music, Bangor. Ellie was a dedicated organist and member of Corinth United Methodist Church. She was a music teacher in the Corinth area for more than 25 years. Ellie lovingly taught piano lessons in her home. She enjoyed camping with family, was an avid reader and a true master of crossword puzzles. Her home cooked meals were enjoyed by all, including the Shaw House, Bangor. Ellie always had a smile on her face. She loved her family and was always there for them. She opened her heart and home generously, and was "Grammie Ellie" to all. Surviving are two children, Renee Harvey and her husband, Keith, of Corinth, and Daniel Beckwith and his wife, Denise, of Portland; six grandchildren, Brent Mitchell and his wife, Jennifer, Erica Mitchell, Jody Wozniak and her husband, Paul, Jamy Harvey, Chelsi Rapaport, and Lindsey Beckwith; two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Dylan; three sisters, Virginia Sodermark and her husband, James, Ethelyn Gass and Clarissa McClure; one brother, Gordon Pullen; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Robert, she was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Beckwith; three sisters, Alma, Shirley and Rita; and four brothers, George, Mont, Raymond and William. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held noon Monday, Feb. 8, with the Rev. Cynthia Nickerson, pastor of Corinth United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring interment will be at Kenduskeag Village Cemetery.
