Barbara Ring (Davis) - Class Of 1953

ORRINGTON - Barbara Jean (Ring) Davis, beloved wife of Richard D. Davis for 24 years, died Feb. 3, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 15, 1935, in Brewer, daughter of Carroll H. and Alfreda M. (Connor) Ring. Barbara grew up in Orrington and graduated from Brewer High School in 1953. She loved her home, oil painting, knitting, crocheting and traveling in her RV with her husband, Rick. She enjoyed meeting her friends at the Brewer McDonald's and loved to read and study the Bible. Surviving in addition to her devoted husband, Rick, are her son, Steven R. Seymour and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Brewer; her daughter, Lisa Seymour O'Brien and her husband, Daniel, of South Lyon, Mich.; stepchildren, Michael Davis, Gina Bible and Victoria Davis; grandchildren, Meagan (Seymour) Gobeil and her husband, Chris, of Biddeford, Jordan and Carly Seymour of Brewer, Nicholas and Nolan O'Brien of Michigan; and a great-granddaughter, Deliah Gobeil of Biddeford. Also surviving are her loving sister-in-law, Betty Ring of Orrington; nieces and nephews, Jim and Greg Ring and Jane (Bishop) Ring, all of Orrington, David Miller of Newcastle, Sarah Jane Blake of Ithaca, N.Y., and many nieces and nephews from her previous marriage. She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Irvin R. Seymour; a brother, Theodore "Ted" Ring; a sister, Florence "Sis" Miller; and a brother-in-law, Dr. Waldo Miller.
