
Bangor - Sally A. Zoidis, 76, wife of 53 years to Bill Zoidis, died Jan. 3, 2013, in Portland, after a brief illness. She was born July 11, 1936, in Brewer, the daughter of John A. and Vena M. (Canty) Gass.
Sally was formerly an active member of the Quipus, the Jaycee Wives, Junior League of Bangor and Eastern Maine Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a member of the original board of Acadia Theatre, now Penobscot Theatre. Sally also served on the boards of Bangor City Hospital and the C.P. Center. She worked with her husband at the family business. Sally had many great friends, especially her bridge group of more than 30 years.
She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Andy Gass; and a sister, Kathy Arnold. Surviving are her husband, Bill; three children, Paulette Barter and her husband, Phil, Christopher Zoidis and his wife, Nicole, and Lindsley Getchell; grandchildren, Rebecca, Michelle and Grace, Clayton, Kate, Maggie and Chase, Will and Tommy; a sister, Velma Stewart and her husband, Donald; a sister-in-law, Kaneen Gass; a brother-in-law, Edson Arnold; several nieces and nephews.
The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
