DEDHAM – Stephen Farr Judy, 70, died Feb. 14, 2011, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born Jan. 29, 1941, in Bangor, the son of James E. and Mildred (Thomas) Judy. Stephen was a graduate of Brewer High School and served with the U.S. Navy as an electronics technician aboard submarines from 1960 to 1964. His service was aboard the USS Pomfret, USS Archerfish, USS Nathan Hale and the USS Thomas Jefferson. He worked for Burroughs Corp., now Unisys, a computer company and also taught industrial electronics for 20 years at Eastern Maine Technical College. Stephen was a pilot licensed to fly a single-engine aircraft and was invited to fly the Goodyear Blimp in 1971. He was fortunate enough to travel and visit 35 countries and at different points in his life had lived in five of them. Surviving are one sister, Dr. Jane Judy Carroll of Black Mountain, N.C.; and two nephews, James E. Carroll of Concord, N.C., and Timothy M. Carroll of Alpharetta, Ga. He will be remembered by many friends. Stephen's wish was to be cremated and scattered at sea by the U.S. Navy.
