Orrington - Gary R. Melvin, 81, passed May 12, 2023, in Bangor after a brief illness. He was born March 7, 1942, in Brewer, the son of Maxwell L. and Bessie M. (Miller) Melvin.
Gary graduated from Brewer High School in 1960, and he worked for the Bangor Fire Department, from which he retired after 24 years (1970-1994).
Surviving are his wife, Linda B. (Moran) Melvin of Orrington; three children, Brent Melvin and his wife, Kendra, of Brewer, Shawn Melvin of Orrington and Rhonda Melvin of Orrington; two granddaughters, Kayla Kienow and her husband, Alan, of Brewer and Lily Stelline of Orrington; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Kienow of Brewer; and brother-in-law, Stephen Moran and his wife, Cheryl of Glenburn.
