Edith Soucie - Class Of 1940

Edith  SoucieBREWER - Edith M. Soucie, 88, died Oct. 16, 2010, at a Biddeford health care center after a period of declining health. She was born July 13, 1922, in Brewer, the daughter of Maxim J. and Ruby E. (LeBriton) Soucie. Edith was a lifelong resident of Brewer and attended Brewer schools, graduating from Brewer High School in 1940. She worked for Eastern Fine Paper, Brewer, for 31 years, retiring in 1987, and also worked as a seamstress doing alterations. Edith was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Brewer, and enjoyed traveling with church groups. She especially enjoyed times spent in Saco visiting her daughter and grandchildren. Surviving are her daughter, Carol Ann Galli of Saco; two granddaughters, Kathryn Riley of San Jose, Calif., and Kristina Brown of Williston, Vt.; and two great-grandchildren, Ben Riley and Audrey Brown. She was predeceased by a son, Robert; sisters, Marguerite Lunn and Maxine Garczynski; and a brother, Alfred Soucie. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa's Catholic Church, South Main Street, Brewer. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
