Carolyn Tardiff (Tremble) - Class Of 1949

 Carolyn  TrembleBREWER - Carolyn A. Tremble, 80, died Dec. 20, 2010, at home, after a long illness. She was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Brewer, daughter of William D. and Eileen (Welch) Tardiff. Carolyn grew up in South Brewer, attended St. Teresa's grammar school and graduated in 1949 from Brewer High School at the top of her class. Upon graduation, she was employed by Merrill Trust Company as secretary to the president. She married her husband, John E. Tremble, in 1953, and moved to Staten Island, N.Y. She and her family relocated to Key West and Pensacola, Fla., when her husband was drafted in 1956. The family resided in Willingboro, N.J., from 1959 until their return to Brewer in 1970. Carolyn returned to work in the fall of 1976 and was employed by the Brewer School Department as secretary in the high school guidance office. She later accepted a position as an administrative assistant for the Maine Teacher's Association, supporting the University of Maine system until her retirement in 1995. Carolyn was a communicant at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Brewer, where she taught catechism classes and was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Carolyn's life was her family. She made a beautiful home, was a talented cook and seamstress, and was a loving wife, wonderful mother, affectionate sister and grandmother, and great friend and companion to all who knew her; she will be sorely missed. She was predeceased by her husband, John E. Tremble; and her daughter, Patrice M. Tremble. She is survived by her two sons, John E. Tremble Jr. and his fianc?e, Janet Puchino, of Cherry Hill, N.J., and William J. Tremble and his wife, Kathleen, of Pittsfield, Mass.; her sister, Sheila (Tardiff) McReavy and her husband, Ron, of Cheshire, Conn.; eight grandchildren, many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Her family thanks all of her extended family and friends who helped Carolyn through her illness. Family and friends may visit 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, North Main Street, Brewer. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
