Harold Perkins - Class Of 1958

Harold Everett PerkinsDunnellon, FL - Harold Everett Perkins, born at the Eastern Maine General Hospital in Bangor, Maine on October 24, 1939, died Feb. 9, 2023. The son of Pearl H (Partridge) and stepfather, Frederick W. Perkins, of Brewer. He grew up in the Bangor - Brewer area and attended the local Brewer elementary schools, and graduated from the University of Maine in Orono, Maine.
In his youth he loved to play baseball, and played in many local leagues in the Bangor - Brewer area. In the early 1960's he was a coach in the Brewer Little League system. He also loved to fish, and enjoyed his annual fishing trip to Matagamon Campgrounds in Northern Maine, with his fishing buddies from Maine and Pennsylvania.
He worked is entire life in the pulp and paper industry, mainly as a Coating Chemist. He was a member of TAPPI and attended the annual Coating Conference and has many friends in the paper industry. He was a coworker on a patented formulation now held by Mohawk Paper Mills of Cohoes, New York.
He retired to Dunnellon, Florida in 2001, and joined the Rainbow Springs Golf & Country Club. He played a lot of golf in the local area with his golfing buddies, particularly with his good friend, Jim Quinn.
He was predeceased by his mother, Pearl H. Partridge and stepfather, Frederick W. Perkins; an infant brother, Frederick Jr.; and his first wife, Nancy Clark of Bangor. He is survived by his wife, Christine Marie (Williamson) of Orrington; and stepchildren, Susan Howard Mikel and husband, John Mikel, of Stafford NY, and granddaughter, Emily, "Rusty" Howard (James III and Darci Howard) of Orrington, ME, and grandson, Anthony, David Howard from Andover, MA); grandchildren, Charles, William, Brooke, and Phoebe; a son, Jeff Perkins and granddaughter, Chloe of Bloomingburgh, NY; sister, Flora (Jim and Flora Rawding of Binghamton NY; three special cousins, (Leroy and Mary Ellen Crawford of Reading, PA.) Richard Crawford of Holden ME. and Linda Martin (Crawford) of Long View, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the East Orrington Church. The service will be held at a later date. Graveside services will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery, at a later date.
