Island Falls - Donald A. Copeland, 81, died September 11, 2023, in Island Falls. He was born October 24, 1941, in Brewer, the son of Arthur and Marion (Bowden) Copeland.
He retired from Maine Forestry Service and in his retirement years he taught fire protection. He was a member of Island Falls lodge #206 AF AM. Anah Shriners, Bangor, where he was a member of the Academicians.
He survived by his wife, Virginia Nason of Island Falls; one son, Brian (Wendy) Copeland of Scarborough, and their children, Brighton, Molly, Jonathan, and Addison; and one sister ,Louise Cox of Brewer. He was predeceased by his parents; two wives, Priscilla and Joyce; a grandson, Charles; and a sister, Judy.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, September 15, at 1 p.m. at Hill Rest Cemetery, at the top of Wiswell Road and Copeland Hill Road, Holden. To share condolences or memories please visit bowersfuneral.com.
