BREWER - Joan (Miles) Tesseo, 79, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Brewer, the daughter of Harold and Margaret (Springer) Miles. Joan grew up in Brewer and was a graduate of Brewer High School. She attended Washington State Teacher College, Machias, and held several positions with the Brewer School Department for more than 30 years. Joan enjoyed the summers volunteering for Brewer Public Library. She lived life to the fullest and will always be remembered for her vibrant and energetic personality. Joan is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bernard "Bernie" Tesseo; son, Kevin Tesseo and his wife, Jackie, of Orrington; grandson, Ryan Tesseo of Orrington; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27. Interment will be afterward at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. After the services relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Rooms of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer.
