BREWER - Shirley M. (Houston) Wilson, 88, wife of the late Stanley R. Wilson, died May 20, 2012, in Brewer, where she lived all of her life. She was born May 16, 1924, in Brewer, daughter of Herbert L. and Gladys E. (Lane) Houston. Shirley was a graduate of Brewer High School. She went on to beautician school then worked at Wheelers Beauty Shop, Bangor, for many years. After which she worked at Korner Kitchen, Bangor, then went to work as a cook for Brewer School Department for 15 years, retiring in 2004. Shirley loved gardening, picking berries, cooking and fishing. She was a life long member of North Brewer Eddington United Methodist Church. Surviving are one son, Scott Wilson and wife, Karen; two granddaughters, Stephanie Wilson and Kaleigh Wilson, all of Carmel; one brother, Liston Houston of Brewer; many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside memorial service 11 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at Woodlawn Cemetery, North Main Street, Brewer, with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves, pastor of North Brewer Eddington United Methodist Church, officiating.
