BREWER and DANVERS, Mass. - Eileen B. Parker, 95, wife of the late Francis W. Parker, died Sept. 21, 2011, at a Bangor health care center. She was born Sept. 30, 1915, in Eastport, daughter of Grover C. and Jessie (Polk) Brown. Eileen was a 1932 graduate of Brewer High School, a 1936 graduate of the University of Maine and completed graduate studies at Simmons College. She worked most of her life as a teacher and librarian, beginning her career in Machias, working as the librarian at Garland Street Junior High School, Bangor, and had worked in New Hampshire and Massachusetts for most of her life. She and her husband were residents of Massachusetts for 35 years, and she had been residing in Brewer and Bangor for the last few years. Eileen is survived by two nieces, Janice Strang and her husband, Arnie, of Chicago, and Michelle Nichols of Glenburn; a nephew, Gary Brown of Brewer; several other nieces and nephews. Eileen preferred simplicity and in keeping with her wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer.
