BREWER - Robert B. Ivers, 77, husband of Sally A. (Davis) Ivers, died Aug. 3, 2015 at his home in Brewer. He was born June 2, 1938 in Bangor, the son of Barrington and Iona M . (Urquhart) Ivers.
Bob wa a graduate of Brewer High School, attended Higgins Classical Institute, University of Maine and Wentworth College and he served two years with the US Army. He and Sally were married in 1973. Bob worked for Roadway for many years and he and Sally also owned a home business fabricating and selling model train kits nationally as Ivers Engineering. He was a true handyman fixing about anything including a motorized hydroplane that he built and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anybody that needed it. Bob and Sally enjoyed the time the spent wintering in Florida during their retirement years.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sally, the love of his life of Brewer; one son, John Mooney and his wife, Nancy of Brunswick; two grandchildren, Nathan R. Mooney of Providence and John W. Mooney of Brunswick; one brother, Alvin Ivers and his wife, Myrnafaye of Holden; several nieces and nephews. In addtion to his parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Rachel Erin Mooney in 2009.
A private burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Brewer. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer.
