Roland Fournier - Class Of 1941

 BREWER - Roland J. Fournier, 88, died Dec. 20, 2009, at a Brewer health care center. He was born in Brewer, one of seven children to Frank X. and Delvina A. (Fournier) Fournier. Roland was a lifelong resident of Brewer and graduated from Brewer High School in 1941. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a military police in the South Pacific. He was employed by Kings Oil Co. just prior to his employment with Eastern Corp., and retired from James River, Old Town. He was also a communicant of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Brewer. Roland was an active member of Eastern Maine Snowmobile Club. He loved to fish and hunt, and earned a membership into "the biggest buck in Maine club." He spent many days at his brother's lakeside log cabin, which he helped build. Roland was a very kind, sweet man and will be missed by all who knew him. Surviving in addition to his wife, Patricia (Beatham) Grass Fournier of Brewer, are his daughter, Sharon A. D'Amato and her husband, Kenneth, of Blacksburg, Va.; three grandchildren, Charity Ewanko, Kathleen and Rebecca D'Amato; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Inez (Comer) Fournier; a daughter, Rose Fournier; a grandson, Steven Moylan; three brothers and three sisters. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa Catholic Church, Brewer. A time of fellowship will be held immediately afterward. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
