BREWER - Rita A. Comer, 86, wife of the late Lawrence Comer, died Aug. 25, 2015 at a Bangor health care center after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 13, 1928 in Corea, ME, the daughter of Herbert and Stella (Young) Bunker.
Rita graduated from Brewer High School in 1947. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved oil painting, bowling, interior decorating, gardening, and the Red Sox. She also loved to play Yahtzee and bingo with her sisters.
Surviving are her children, Rodney Ouellette of N.H., Gerald Ouellette and wife, Loretta of Bucksport, Anthony Ouellette of Alabama, Deborah Peterson and husband, Carl of Brewer, Christopher Ouellette and wife, Lorraine of Ellsworth, Brenda Ouellette of Brewer, Sylvia Tavares and husband Dana of Damariscotta, Jeanine Dye of Veazie, Diane Zegarra and husband Raul of Corinth, and Lawrence Comer and wife Maxine of Otis; grandchildren Laura Magoon, Michael and Jacob Ouellette, Christa, Chantal and Renee Ouellette, Maya and Jesse Tavares, Christina and Marco Zegarra; great grandchild, Emily Magoon; five sisters: Barbara Boyden of Washington State, Elaine McCarthy of Ellsworth, Sheila Nash of Brewer, Marilyn Dennison of Hermon, and Pauline Utley and husband, Rolla of Tampa, FL; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband in 1994; and children Daniel Ouellette and Julie Comer.
Family and friends may visit Saturday, August 29th from 10-11 am at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer where a service honoring Rita's life will be held at 11 am, as the visitation concludes. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service at Heritage Community Center, 15 Colonial Circle, Suite 1, Brewer. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in Rita's memory to a charity of one's choice.
