ORLAND - Louise E. Obey, 88, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 28, 1919, in Brewer, the daughter of Benjamin and Ruby Osgood, and was educated in Brewer schools, graduating from Brewer High School. Louise worked for many years as a sales clerk at Rosen's, Bucksport and Cortell-Siegle's, Bangor. Louise is survived by two sons, John J. Obey and his wife, Cindy, of Naples, Fla., and Thomas M. Obey and his wife, Lori, of Bangor; four granddaughters, one grandson and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one daughter-in-law, Emely Rucker Obey of Orland; two sisters, Judy Hayes of Dover, Del., and Shirley Doughty of Charleston; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" W. Obey, in 1985; one son, Terrance Obey, in 2007; one sister, Ginny; and two brothers, James and Benjamin Osgood. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. The funeral service will be officiated by Louise's son, Pastor Tom Obey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Louise's memory may be made to St. Joseph Hospital, at St. Joseph Healthcare, Development Office, P.O. Box 1638, Bangor, ME 04402-1638.
