Agnes Lawrence - Class Of 1945

BANGOR and BREWER - Agnes J. "Aggie" Lawrence, 83, died Sept. 21, 2009, at a Bangor nursing center. She was born Jan. 9, 1926, in Brewer, the daughter of Charles S. and Minerva Jane (Connolly) Lawrence. Agnes was a longtime resident of Brewer, where she graduated from Brewer High School and worked for more than 40 years in local shoe factories. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Teresa's Parish and had been active in the Daughters of Isabella and St. Teresa's Sodality. Her greatest pleasure and pastime was knitting mittens and hats that she gave to family, friends and charities. Surviving are one sister, Janet McCann of Brewer; one nephew, Brian Lawrence of Orono; four nieces, Judy Ammerman, Joyce LaBier, Nancy Price and Mary Davis, all of Bangor; five great-nieces, two great-nephews, one great-great-niece, three great-great-nephews and several cousins. She will be remembered by her dearest friend and companion, Kate Gagnon of Bangor. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Brother Joseph Frederick Lawrence, Richard Lawrence and Charles Thomas Lawrence; and a nephew, Robert McCann. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Brewer, with a time of fellowship and refreshments afterward at the parish center.
