Brewer - Ruth E. Kidder, 87, passed away February 15, 2018, at EMMC. She was born May 23, 1930, in Lowell, MA, the daughter of Harry and Ella (Wagner) Johnson. She was a 1947 Brewer High School graduate. She worked at JJ Newberry in Bangor, raised her sons, and returned to work at JC Penney in Bangor. She expertly planned many travel adventures to all 50 states with her husband and favorite travel partner, Bob. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Shirley Cookson, and nephew James Cookson. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Kidder, of Brewer; sons Donald Johnson-Kidder, of Irvine, CA; John and Karen Kidder, and granddaughters, Morgan and Abbey, of Bangor. She is also survived by a special niece, Carol Cookson-Chapman and Deb Chapman of Bangor, and nephew, Edward and Laurie Cookson, of Kenduskeag; brothers-in-law, Ronald and Judy Kidder, of Brewer; Richard and Mary Kidder, of San Marcos, CA, and James Kidder, of Honolulu, HI. At her request there will be no memorial service.
