The beautiful Barbara Jean Bennoch entered into eternal rest on March 16, 2020. She passed away peacefully at home with her family—her husband, Richard E. Bennoch, her daughters, Karen and Lori Bennoch, and her son, Richard A. Bennoch. Barbara was born in Brewer, Maine, where she was not only a proper New England resident (had a lifelong love of lobster), but where she also developed a love of most music (enjoyed various types of music, from Abba to Andrea Bocelli). Though she was a traditional loving mom in most ways, her beauty and personality were not. Well into her 70’s, highlights often graced her auburn hair, and she could wear teal eyeliner like no other. “Classy” would be an accurate word to describe Barbara, and the hundreds of cats, dogs, squirrels, and birds she fed throughout her life, would definitely agree. In addition to her family, she leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Kristina; two grandchildren, Brandon and Sabrina, all of Houston, Texas; a sister and a brother, Linda and Eddie Byers, both of Massachusetts; two dogs and three cats. She will forever be our “Mamasita,” and “Hey Hon” are words that will be forever missed. Until we meet again, Mom, know that you were the best.
Barbara, like her children, never met a cat she didn’t like. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Feral Cat Coalition at www.sanantonioferalcats.org.
