Orrington - Arthur G. Libby, 84, passed away February 2, 2025, after a brief stay in the hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Arthur was born on March 19, 1940, in Brewer, Maine, the son of Amas and Alva Ring Libby.
He was predeceased by his parents; his previous wives, Marlene and Ann; his siblings, Arlene, Edward, Lloyd, Donald, Richard, and Doris; and a son, Shawn Darby.
He graduated from Brewer High School in 1958, spent four years in the Air Force, twenty years in the Air National Guard, and worked as a sheet metal technician for forty-five years. He was a loving father and husband, and was admired by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Philippa; sons, John, Arthur and Alan; daughters, Kristi, Melissa, and Pauline, and their spouses; and children whom he fostered through the years, as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Dysart's Event Center on Broadway in Bangor on February 15 from 1-3 p.m.
