Martin Campbell - Class Of 1946

BREWER – Martin F. Campbell, 80, died July 17, 2007, at his home in Brewer. He was born May 27, 1927, the son of Joseph and Beulah (Leland) Campbell. Martin was born in Brewer, where he attended schools and resided for most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. During his working career, he managed Grant’s Dairy for 20 years, and in his retirement was a real estate investor. Martin enjoyed spending the winter months at his second home in Boynton Beach, Fla., where he and his brother, George, enjoyed daily games of Skip-Bo and car rides. Martin’s favorite summer activity was fishing on Moosehead Lake, often with his brother, John, and Charlie, Mary and Nicole. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Linda (Billings) Campbell of Brewer; four children, Barbara Fye of Bangor, Martin F. Campbell Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Holden, Mary Mulldune and her husband, Charlie, of Eddington; and Jane Smith of Bangor; four grandchildren, Nicole Stevens, Mardi McKay, Valerie Campbell and Michele Brown. He is also survived by three brothers, John and his wife, Virginia, George, and Irwin and his wife, Grace, all of Brewer; two sisters, Elizabeth Moore and her husband, Tom, of Brewer, Eileen Jensen of Lincoln, Neb. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bob, Joseph and Maurice; and sisters, Erma Flanagan and Catherine Sproul; and a special sister-in-law, Faith Campbell. He will also be missed by Linda’s children and grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pamela Crosby and her husband, Skip; and many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his beloved cat, Angel. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brewer, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin presiding. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor. A reception will be held immediately afterward. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Hospice, P.O.
