Estero, FL - Frank T. Dolliver passed away November 24, 2016, at his residence in Estero, Florida. Frank was born March 11, 1930, in Brewer, Maine, the son of Gertrude E. (LeBritton) and Ferdinand M. Dolliver. He was married September 29, 1950, in Brewer, Maine, to his best friend and love of his life Peggy (Trefethen) Dolliver who preceded him in death on April 8, 2015. Frank and Peggy shared their lives together for more than 64 years. He leaves behind their five children, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Frank was a 1948 graduate of Brewer High School, Brewer, Maine, where he was a member of the baseball and football teams as well as a very popular classmate. He was trained as a skilled craftsman for the automobile upholstery industry and moved to Connecticut in 1956 with his young family securing a position as an upholsterer for Star Seat Cover in Taftville. As a master craftsman with over 20 years' experience, he opened in 1967 his own business Frank's Auto Tops and Seat Covers in Norwichtown and later moved his business to North Franklin. In 2005 his son Dan took over the business so Frank could retire to Estero, Florida. Frank said in his retirement he was still sewing auto upholstery in his dreams. He enjoyed baseball, football, golf, photography, painting, playing cards, Wii bowling, and bocce ball.
A private family memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Hope Hospice hopehospice.org/donate
