I got married in 1985 to my best friend. We lived in Rhode Island for 15 years and just recently returned to Pittsburgh. I have been a Portfolio Manager for Real Estate Companies over the last 17 years. While living in Rhode Island, I took up photography & writing. I also joined the local Boys & Girls Club and became inspired by these children. Every year we had a silent auction to raise money for the new clubs that were being built. My time with these kids was so valuable, but I wanted to give more to them, so I donated several of my pictures to raise money. The proceeds sent kids to summer camp, purchased supplies for their club or gave them meals. There is no better feeling than giving the gift of life to unfortunate children. When I told them that I was leaving RI, these kids gave something back to me. Each child dipped their small hand into paint and left their imprint on a poster with a personal message on their palms. I was on top of the world that day & will never forget them. They will remain in my heart forever. I hope to complete, publish and donate my children's book to the clubs someday in the near future.
School Story
The one that sticks in my head, is Mark Zink's beetle bug! Cheryl, Pam, Theresa, myself and possibly one or two others "squeezed" into his car and went to Martins Ferry & wrapped toilet paper on the bell! Yeah..I know...who didn't do that! Mark might be able to fill in some of the blanks...but fitting all of us into that little car was something else! Like to see us try that today!
