In Memory

Delbert Deb McConn

Survived by wife, Leigh.

Sunny days seem to hurt the most I wear the pain like a heavy coat I feel you everywhere I go I see your smile, I see your face I hear you laughin' in the rain Still can't believe you're gone. It ain't fair you died too young Like a story that had just begun But death tore the pages all away God knows how I miss you All the hell that I been through Just knowin' no one could take your place Sometimes I wonder Who you'd be today. Would you see the world, would you chase your dreams Settle down with a family I wonder what would you name your babies Somedays the sky's so blue I feel like I can talk to you And I know it might sound crazy. It ain't fair you died too young Like a story that had just begun But death tore the pages all away God knows how I miss you All the hell that I been through Just knowin' no one could take your place Sometimes I wonder Who you'd be today. Today, today, today Today, today, today. Sunny days seem to hurt the most I wear the pain like a heavy coat The only thing that gives me hope Is I know I'll see you again some day Someday, someday...

His wife Leigh, used to work with me and at that time Deb was sick in a Columnus hospital and our office had a benefit to raise money for hospital bills, etc.
Sadly to say Deb expired in 2003.

Thanks Linda Tennyson

My memories of Deb are cute & funny. We were in the 7th & 8th grade when he used to ride his bike to my house. He was friends with Ricky Williams (the little guy about 4' tall) who would also ride his bike to my house. Other than their height, they could have looked alike...one had curls and the other one had straight hair. My dad could never tell them apart. One day, they both showed up at the same time, one peeking in the living room window & one peeking through the front door...I think my dad threw water on them & they both ran! They were both good kids...and liked to play basketball with my dad. Deepest sympathy to Deb's wife and family.

Deb and I grew up together. We went K-12 and worked at Picoma together with Jerry Tennant. Deb was a great person and a great friend. We used to ride dirt bikes together. Flying down the railroad tracks. One time we found a way to get our bikes behind the football field and we would race around back there until someone called the police. We were the "Dirt Bike Bandits" He loved fishing. Any place there were fish we would drop a line. One time we went to Piedmont Lake and rent boats to go fishing. Fished all day and at the end of the day we played bumper boats with the rental. He loved fixing up his house.

They say you do not have very many TRUE friends, Deb IS mine.

I grew up in the same neighborhood as he did and of course went to school from K-12 with him. He was always hanging out at the Shafer's with Richard and Robert. Usually there were a few others, like Brian Myers, Alfred Wonsik. We would also all sit across the street on the church steps and just talk. It is hard to believe that he is gone. When I am back home I always go down Bennett Street, and think of the different folks as I pass their houses.

I knew Deb all my days at BHS. He was so cute and I had the biggest crush on him in 6th grade. I'd go past his house 100 times a day just to maybe see him. He was always so nice. I really miss him.

I grew up with Deb, and we went to school together k thru 12. We were very close in grade school, but went our seperate ways in high school, although we still always talked when we saw each other. He was truly a good guy, and I was stunned to hear of his passing. I know his family had to be devestated. I have nothing but fond memories of him, and the deepest sympathy for his family.

Deb and I were neighbors, he lived behind us when we lived on Howard St. My those were great times. I can still remember all the times we would ride bikes, hang out with Mark Scammell and just have a good time.
I also can't believe he is gone. When I worked at Citizens on Howard St I would see his wife jogging everyday and Deb was out working on his house.
I do miss him and I know his family misses him greatly also.

Rest in Peace my friend...
