After serving an LDS mission in Italy. I graduated from USU in 1996 with degrees in geography and computer science.
I moved soon after to Redlands, CA and worked for a software company for 4 years. While there I met Kari Ann over the internet and we were married in 1997.
In 2000 I moved to Olympia, WA. (50 miles south of Seattle and the state capital) where I now work for a regional planning council doing Geographic Information Systems I was appointed to the Washington governor's climate change action team and am actively involved with a local environmental organization focused on sustainability issues. I do some GIS consulting and solar system sales on the side.
I have become a parody of the stereotypical environmentalist. I commute to work by bicycle. We own a Prius, have solar panels, buy most of our food from a co-op and have torn up our lawn to replace it with an edible forest garden. We may seem a little bit strange for Utah but seem to fit in pretty well around here.
We are unable to have children but do have a nephew Jake 11 and niece Jora 7 who live down the street from us and whom are unlucky enough to have two sets of parents.
My memories of Box Elder and life in Brigham City include runs to Smiths during track practice to grab donughts, making prank phone calls to the pay phone across from Palace Playhouse and doing my best to seem cool (I have now long since learned to embrace the inner geek). Most of all I remember good times with my good friend Jon Simper. He will always be missed!
