I have been very fortunate with family, health and career. I received a BS & MBA at ORU where I later worked in Accounting and Computer Systems. I found both my future wife and career while implementing a large computerized financial system for the University. Sherry was a 3rd shift computer operator and the software vendor offered me a technology job in Atlanta. Sherry and I were married in 1982 and relocated to Atlanta in 1984. I spent the next 15 years managing some really cool projects until I was persuaded to accept an executive role. I made a job change in 1996 to a much smaller software company just in time to be acquired by a private equity firm. I was very lucky – the private equity guys liked me and I have spent the last 17 years buying, transforming, and selling companies. I still carry the title of Partner / CTO, but spent most of my time in M&A or operations. My wife retired from a technology career in 2001 and has never looked back. Sherry spends most of her time assisting charities that have included Prevent Blindness, Epilepsy Foundation, Team in Training, and local shelters.

Sherry and I live in Atlanta, Georgia with our collie (Charlie). We started a new chapter in our life with my July 2013 retirement from Platinum Equity. I am no longer a road warrior and get to spend quality time with family and friends. I also have more opportunity to enjoy the national parks and other locations to focus on photography. We are kicking off this new chapter with 3 weeks in Yellowstone and a trip to Churchill Canada in November to photograph polar bears. We have also reconnected with some good friends who live in Georgia - Don & Sharon Nading. We have been blessed on so many levels.

Update Update 2022
In 2016, I got pulled back into the business world helping a friend create a new private equity company - Sage Park. We have acquired / divested multiple companies over the last 6 years while still enjoying lots of family life and travel. We have been fortunate to make multiple trips to Africa, Alaska, Canada and other great wildlife locations. COVID derailed 5 major trips in 2020 and we hoping to catch up with a trip to Hawaii, New York for the US Open Tennis and two trips to Africa. One of the thrips to Africa is with my good friend Art Wolfe who I first met in 2012. Art is a fantastic photographer, one of the best in the world and I learn something new every time we travel. Sherry and Charlie are both doing great!

Mr. Seals leading you down the wrong logic path with a smile and then pushing you off the cliff. I actually liked his class. Hot, young substitute teacher who taught one semester of History. Running out for lunch at the Tastey Freeze (?)
