hey guys!! It looks like me & the FAM are moving back to the Tulsa area. I have a question.....What is the level of competitive sports like in broken arrow & bixby? I have a ten year old 2nd baseman & a 6 year old soccer player. Both boys! We are looking at houses and trying to figure out schools. If it is easier to chat about this, you can always call me 405-747-5381.

I'm guilty as charged too, Todd. I usually take a glance at the 1988 website also.

Congrats to the Becks! Glad to hear that everyone is happy and healthy.

Decker, were you in Mrs. Newman's class with me? I think it was 5th hour our junior year. Amy Witte, Kerry Shubert, and Susan Giles were in my class. The whole class used to wad up complete sheets of paper and throw them at her when she was writing on the board, among other mean things. You weren't kidding about that class being a comedy hour, I don't think anyone learned anything. I remember the first day of class in Spanish II our senior year with Mrs. Williams, Brian Fabian (I think it was Brian) tells her that he doesn't belong in the class because he can't even count to ten in spanish. She said that he had Spanish I last year so he'll be OK. Brian responded that he had Mrs. Newman, so he didn't learn anything. Mrs. Williams was shocked when he proved that he couldn't even count to five. It's funny the stuff I start remembering when I start reading people's profiles and the forum!

Doug I think it was 5th hour Rick Heineman and Rick Riffe were in there, and she would go off on how we were going to amount to ditch diggers and of course Heineman pipes up "the world needs ditch diggers too" just like spanish teachers. I still remember how pissed she got, everyday someone was in the hall with her. Good Times...

Steve, that's the class I was in. I usually left that class with a headache from laughing so hard at the things Rick Riffe would do. Didn't Riffe get the whole class to start humming and Mrs. Newman was convinced that the light fixtures were the culprit? It seems like someone would intentionally get sent out into the hall, and when she went out to the hall with them, someone else would get in the grade book and change grades. Do you remember when Susan Giles allegedly pulled the fire alarm when she was out in the hall then swore she didn't do it? She got pissed at me at the end of the year when I mentioned something about when she pulled the fire alarm. She probably would still insist that she didn't do it! To my knowledge, Mrs. Gusse never punished her because she denied doing it and her parents backed her.

Guilty of checking new profile updates for pics also on: 1987, 1988 and 1989 (my sisters class).

yeah the humming lights. thats hillarious, you just got a big laugh out of me. I'm glad every hour was'nt like that or I would still be there. people in her other classes would ask what we did to her every day. You know she had to hate 5th hour. I think Amy was the one who always looking in her grade book and fixing it when she was in the hall. The fire alarm is classic, man I hope my kids don't do some of the stuff we did. Humming Lights... Ha.

the 88 site is cool too alot of the names ring a bell and it's cool to see how they all are. check out their message forum some pretty funny stories.

If the '88's have that golf tourney they are talking about we need to get some '87 teams together and get in the tourney. Unless of course it's on a football weekend.

Jennifer Shimp (Atkinson)

BTW, there is no offense taken, when it comes to input on the website. All of us are together in this, so don't forget to let classmates know about it, when you see them!

Peace

I went to the last one and had a blast. We are going to Disneyland the next day and our flight is the early, early one, so I will not be able to make it. But I can bring back Mickey Mouse ears for everyone who does make it. :-) LOL!!

Heh, got my George Michael tickets today, me & Kim going to the Houston show. So why am I posting this? because I've been listening to him the last few days and the WHAM! stuff is giving me South Intermediate flashbacks! LOL

I remember getting WHAM!s "Music From the Edge of Heaven" (Starship Records and Tapes, $5.99) and making Randy Morris suffer through it the whole way back to BA...

How did this escape the media?

December 2000, Broken Arrow, OK: Middle school teacher CYNTHIA ANN ALEXANDER plead guilty to 3 counts of Lewd Molestation after she was charged with molesting an eighth-grade cheerleader.

The Lyons case in the late 1980's was all over ALL of the media, the Tulsa World, The Broken Arrow Ledger, all the TV outlets etc. But THIS conviction and pending federal lawsuit somehow slipped under the radar. If you search on the Tulsa World site, nothing comes up. Here is the most disturbing part: with enough searching you can find out all of the victims info, but nowhere can you find what school Miss Alexander taught at. The schools identity is protected (BURIED!) By whom? And to what end? The victims identity is part of public record (thought that was illegal?)

04/25/08 06:33 PM #49

Amy Witte (Bozarth)

Hey Steve Decker! Now don't be telling my secrets from High School, I have kids and I don't want them knowing my past!!! Ha Ha! Newmans class was so fun, I actually looked forward to it because it was so entertaining, my face would hurt when I left from laughing so much! I remember her crying one time (which looking back now, I kinda feel sorry for her!) because she said none of us were going to amount to anything and it made her sad. Kirk O'hara was in that class also and he gave her hell!

I agree with Mike we need to get something going golfwise for those of us that hit that damn ball. Get it rolling Mike and Ogg and I are in.

I am in for golf.

05/01/08 06:35 PM #52

On the golf idea just check the '88 board every now and then. I've heard they are having a tourney that they are opening up to most anyone. I think it'd be great if we had a few teams show up and hack around with them.
