Jenny-

I will be making the reservations for 7pm; however you can pretty much get there when you can. Jen Shimp posted that people will be going to Dirtys Bar afterwards, which is on the riverwalk as well.

The "Get Together" was a blast. I am so glad I went. I've had some troubling experiences in the recent months and getting out to see old friends was a positive necessity. Really good to see you all again. I hope my presence was appreciated as well. Class of 87 Rules. Rock on brothers & sisters....

Hey Todd, Speaking of Starship. Are you aware that they've moved?? It really Blows man. That old school, Tulsa Feel is gone, and they have set up in some tin sided building on Lewis or Utica. I'll miss those two old blue and yellow buildings..........

Kurt- the school teacher ordeal was in the media if you lived here. One of my sisters was actually at that school and was on her cheerleading squad.

Kim, I didn't hear anything about it until I stumbled across it, and you are the first one that I have heard that knew anything about it.

Which school did it happen at?

05/24/08 10:44 PM #70

Kim Ray (Clark)

Childers

Interesting, I couldn't find anything on the Tulsa World site about it so I guess that most of the media coverage was TV?

I'll google it and add "Childers" and see if that reveals anything I missed without adding the school to the search.

It was the BA Ledger that was all over the Lyons case in the late 1980's but they have no online archives.

Was I the only one that didn't know about it? My mom didn't know about it either and she is a news HOUND!!

ok that last discussion was a little "dark"
so I'll try to lighten it up a bit.

Weigh in folks:

With gas approaching $4 a gallon or you having a Vacation or a "Staycation" what are you doing? where are you going?

BIXBY SCHOOLS? Hey folks. A quick question for the local crowd. The girls and I are moving back to Tulsa in the fall. We're heading that way in a couple of weeks to look at houses. We were originally locked in on B.A., but searching online, I'm seeing a lot of nice areas popping up in Bixby. I've heard rumors that the Bixby area/school system is up and coming these days. Can anyone confirm (or deny)?
Thanks a bunch.

Jennifer Shimp (Atkinson)

Jerry,

Tom & I just moved from Stillwater to Tulsa. We had the same questions. After looking around and asking around, we were torn between BA, Jenks & Bixby. We decided on Jenks just because of local nothing more. My understanding is if you want competitive education and sports, then any of those 3 schools systems are very good.

The market is crazy insane with a lot of beautiful houses available to own or rent.

We chose the 96th & Riverside area, because we wanted to be near Tom's work (in Bixby) and we moved into an apartment complex.

That is what we have done, so far.

Jen

Remember when Bixby and Coweta were long distance calls from BA?!?!?

Kurt,

I remember that well. What an odd thing, especially with technology as it is today. A lot of people don't even have home phones anymore!

Ok everyone, so when and where is our next get together?

Also, do we want to work on a football game?

Let me know!

You guys talking about the good education in the area is correct. I found out how poor a certain school is in Florida...I spent my final semester in Fort Pierce Central and they were working out of my 6th grade civics book and advanced art was learning the color wheel. The school was like a prison (with barbed wire on top of fences) closed campus. I hated that school and always remebered how good I had it in BA.
